Navigation Centers/Shelter in Place (SIP)
In 2018, Five Keys began operating congregate-setting shelter services on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH). We have been providing case management and referral placements at the Bayshore Navigation Center (with capacity for 128 long-term guests) and at the Embarcadero SAFE Navigation Center (for shorter stays for up to 200 guests with substance use disorders and other destabilizing factors). To increase social distancing during the pandemic, capacity at these sites has been reduced to 46 guests and 62 guests, respectively.
With the onset of the pandemic, HSH asked Five Keys to manage five emergency Shelter-in-Place (SIP) sites in San Francisco. Most are converted hotels with individual rooms for vulnerable people needing to quarantine or safely socially distance. Five Keys is also slated to provide security services for an additional navigation site in San Francisco.
